2020 - The Year That Was

Well..... there is not much to say about this year that hasnt' already been said! Its been both the slowest year to get through, but looking back the quickest year ever!

But whilst the world swirled in craziness around us, we were very lucky to be able to continue to work throughout lockdown. Of course this year has allowed us to appreciate the little things - our office being within our 5k zone, our wonderful staff who took working from home into their stride, our lovely clients who trusted us with the continuation of their projects despite sometimes uncertain times, as well as our consultants and collegues who worked hard to support us througout the year.

We used some of the downtime to upskill, with Amy completing the Passive House designer course to offer a new level of sustainable design for future projects, and Ben sampling some new 3d software programes.

Despite the pandemic, our year has still had some wonderful highs.

In June our Osborne Project was awarded a silver medal in the 2020 Melbourne Design Awards, and then more recently in November we were finalists in 7 Catagories, and awarded two National Design awards and a commendation in the Building Designers Association of Australia Design Awards - For our Fauconshawe Project, Nelson Street Project and again our Osborne Project. The awards season was obvioulsy a little different with online ceremonies, but exciting times none the less.

Looking forward to 2020 we are excited to get out and photograph some of the projects which have been completed this year. We also have some brilliant upcoming projects we can't wait to share with you - a little video snippet below!

Amy, Ben and the Little Brick Studio team wish you a very merry and safe Christmas and New Year.

Thank you for being a part of the LBS family.
